Just tried VOL on our lab's reading list. The clusters it found are exactly how we think about the field. Wild.
Asked VOL AI about perovskite stability and it flew me to a cluster of 40 papers I'd never connected. Every sentence cited. This is the way.
The 3D map is gorgeous AND useful. Rare combo.
We embedded the VOL map in our internal wiki. Search usage went up 3x in a month. The SDK is clean and typed, which made the integration painless.
Shareable map links are underrated. I drop them in Slack and people land exactly where I want them.
Finally an AI research tool that doesn't hallucinate references, because it only answers from the corpus you give it.
Our grants team uses VOL to map past Horizon projects before writing a proposal. It's become step zero.
The webhooks + workflows combo means we get a weekly digest of new trials in our indication, with a cited summary. Love it.
Onboarded my whole class in ten minutes. Students actually read the sources now.
Patents + papers on one map is such a good idea. Spotted a white space in our domain on day one.
Free tier is genuinely generous. I explore my PhD topic every day.
Clean API, great docs, sensible rate limits. Built a Slack bot over the weekend.
These are some of our most frequently asked questions.
VOL is a semantic exploration platform. We embed large corpora such as scientific papers, CORDIS projects, patents and clinical trials, and lay them out as an interactive 3D knowledge map where similar documents cluster together. You can fly through the map, filter it, and ask VOL AI questions that are answered from the corpus with citations.
Search engines give you lists and chatbots give you text. VOL gives you both on top of a map: every answer cites the documents it used, and clicking a citation takes you to that node and its cluster, so you always see the context around an answer.
Exploring public corpora is free for individuals, including the 3D map and a monthly allowance of AI answers. Teams adds shared workspaces, private corpora and more credits. Organizations adds SSO, admin controls and audit logs. Enterprise offers dedicated infrastructure, custom corpora and higher SLAs.
Yes. VOL has a public REST API, a typed TypeScript SDK, embeddable React components for the graph and the chat, and a one-line script embed. OAuth clients let you integrate VOL into your own product securely.
Private corpora are encrypted at rest and in transit, isolated per workspace, and never used to train models. Organizations and Enterprise plans include SSO, granular permissions and audit logs.
